Individual Therapy at Growth & Wellness Therapy Services

Individual therapy offers a safe and supportive environment to help you address life challenges, gain clarity, and work toward your goals of well-being. Individual therapy is structured to personalize your unique needs, whether you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, or life transitions. With both telehealth and in-person options, therapy is designed to fit into your life and provide the tools you need for meaningful, lasting change. Through Socratic questioning and evidence-based interventions, your therapist will guide you through your sessions to help you articulate your thoughts, express your emotions and explore dilemmas and ambivalence in your life.

Reasons to Seek Therapy

  • Stress and Anxiety: Therapy can help you identify the sources of your stress and teach you practical ways to foster peace, focus and directionality in life.
  • Depression: If you are experiencing a depressed mood or a lack of motivation, therapy provides support in seeking relief, regaining joy and purpose.
  • Trauma Recovery: Work through the lingering effects of past trauma to regain a sense of safety and control.
  • Relationship Challenges: Learn tools for improving communication and building stronger, more fulfilling connections with those around you.

Our goal is to support you with your mental health and discover new perspectives to help you live a life worth living.

Our Approach to Therapy

We use a combination of evidence-based therapeutic techniques tailored to your individual circumstances. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on helping you reframe unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, while Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) provides tools for managing emotions and improving interpersonal relationships. If you are dealing with trauma, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) and a psychodynamic approach offers a structured path to healing through acceptance and integration of your experience. Additionally, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) helps identify practical strategies to resolve current issues while building on your strengths.

Individual Therapy FAQ’s

How does Individual therapy work?

Individual therapy consists of telehealth or in person sessions, typically at a frequency of one time per week. Through the process of therapy, we can address the core of your depression, grief, anxiety, trauma or interpersonal conflicts.

Many people also find therapy comforting and supportive as they address issues of coping relating to loss, change or acceptance of a situation. I will work with you to understand the process of therapy to achieve your goals.

I utilize a variety of cognitive, emotional and behavior-based interventions in treatment which includes cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy (TFCBT), and solution-focused therapy (SFT).

How do I know that we are the right fit?

It is important that in the initial phases of treatment (consult and evaluation) a therapeutic alliance be established between a therapist and a client. Typically, clients can sense in their initial consultation whether or not they are willing to begin the process of therapy with a therapist.

Through the process of therapy, clients are encouraged to ask questions about the therapy process and are given tools to practice assertive communication for the purpose of enhancing and improving their experience in therapy, to then integrate these approaches in their general lives.

Ultimately, clients always have the right to end treatment when they please, without the need for any explanation.

How do I know that I am making progress?

In the beginning of treatment, you and your therapist will identify behavioral and measurable goals, that will allow you to determine whether or not you are making progress.

Treatment is measured at each session, and more wholistically monthly and / or quarterly.
